Chiropractic is a health care profession that focuses on disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system, and the effects of these disorders on general health.
Doctors of chiropractic practice using a variety of techniques and protocols that stem back to the movement of the spine. Dr. Roberts will analyze your spine for areas that are not moving or distributing weight correctly. He then will carefully correct the problem areas with a treatment called an adjustment, which allows the adjusted area of the spine to move, function, and distribute weight correctly. As result, the area will have a decrease in localized inflammation, a decompression of the nerves and spinal cord, and the brain’s ability to communicate properly with all sensory organs will improve.
There are two main ways Dr. Roberts will adjust your spine – manually or with an instrument. Manual adjustments involve the hands of the chiropractor and are scientifically proven to be more effective than instrument techniques. Instrument techniques are much less invasive and work well with post-surgical areas of the spine, osteoporosis/osteopenia, or with people who are uncomfortable with manual alignments. The instruments do not create a cavitation, otherwise known as a pop, and they gently move a joint back into proper movement.
